The Inspiration

Fall is almost here, ladies, and the stores are coming to the end of their fall decorations. Have you built your tablescape yet for fall? Are you still trying to decide what theme to do or color combo? If you love buffalo plaid and a pop of burnt orange for fall, this pumpkin patch tablescape may be for you.

This collection's inspiration was from this adorable pumpkin patch black truck when Judy was shopping at Walmart. How cute is this? We love how, on both sides, it is printed and designed. It has the 3-dimensional pumpkins in the cab with a pop of greenery that breaks up the black and white. Also, did we mention this cutie is only $6.48, add to cart, check.

During Judy’s supposedly "return only" shopping spree at Walmart, she came across this buffalo plaid pillow. Now, we knew we had our inspiration to start this tablescape, pulling elements from both pieces. You may be wondering why we have a pillow in a tablescape design. Read on to find out.

Table Runner

Finding the proper table runner can be the biggest challenge when decorating your tablescape. We just wanted a neutral design with a high-quality feel. We came across this 14” x 72” table runner on Amazon. It has a beautiful mocha coloring with a subtle texture, giving it that high-quality look. This table runner is lovely because it is versatile for many tablescape designs.

Table Runner Decor

We did two types of decorating ideas for this pumpkin patch tablescape. We did one with a low candle floral and one with a tall lantern as a focal point. We will discuss the differences between them so you can understand what will be best for you when decorating.

Option 1

For Option 1’s design, I came across this beautiful mum and greenery mix candle centerpiece at Kirklands. I gravitated towards all the fall colors; hues of white, green, red, tan and orange in the centerpiece. It measures 9H x 16in. in diameter, a perfect size for your focal point when dining. The glass hurricane accommodates one pillar candle. We recommend purchasing flameless flickering pillar candles on Amazon.

Next, I found three varying-sized taper candles at Kirklands, which adds a warm rustic touch. We paired it with Kirklands battery-operated taper candles. Adding texture creates interest, and we added our olive leaf napkin ring holders to the taper candles. This completely softens the look and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.

Lastly, we added our pumpkin patch trucks and propped up a fabric printed pumpkin to complete the table runner decor look.

Option 2

This option is best for decorative use in your formal dining room for everyday decor. It can be distracting and hard to see guests with a tall centerpiece. When using a tall centerpiece, we recommend moving when dining. We love to add an extra layer of interest by using height variations. With this one, we kept all the decor of the pumpkin patch collection but added this wooden lantern we found at Kirklands.

Place Setting Decor

A must have item for any tablescape is a good placemat that is versatile, easy to clean, waterproof, heat resistant, and machine washable. Well, we found it ladies, we are obsessed with this placemat from Amazon. We love the burlap, tweeded texture.

At Yes Design It, we like to decorate our table settings by having the end caps different than the main settings. With this collection's place setting, we added these cute signs that say "You’re the pumpkin to my spice" and paired them with our olive leaf napkin ring and clip-on pumpkin. This set is called "Pumpkin Spice" and is a Yes Design It table decoration, available for purchase on our shop. We popped the burnt orange napkin, tucking them under the salad plate to give it a cohesive aesthetic.

The main place settings have the buffalo plaid napkins tucked under the salad plate, pulling the design from the buffalo plaid pillow. Next, we popped the burnt orange napkin on the salad plate, sliding our wooden beaded tassel napkin ring on them. These napkin rings are hand-made by Yes Design It and are available for purchase on our shop. Using two napkins creates a more layered look, which is a Yes Design It’s favorite.

Why did we purchase a pillow for a tablescape? Here it is ladies, we added the buffalo plaid pillow to the end table’s chair with an ivory blanket for the final table decor piece. How inviting and cozy is this tablescape? It is both beautiful and welcoming for your guests.
