DIY Easy Dollar Tree Christmas Centerpiece from Original to Unique
The Inspiration
Judy and I have a different approach to shopping. While most people either don’t care for it, get overwhelmed and make it quick, or shop completely online, we consider shopping an art. When we first walk in, it’s like a blank canvas until we find inspiration with that one item. From there, it’s like blending colors and adding elements to the canvas until we have a completed painting, in other words, a tablescape masterpiece.
It was hard choosing which door swag to go with since the Dollar Tree has many to choose from, I went with the silver poinsettia and red poinsettia for my inspiration.
Dollar Tree Christmas Greenery Stems
I was pleasantly surprised by Dollar Tree’s selection of artificial Christmas greenery stems. I usually prefer the selection at Hobby Lobby, and I grab them when they are on sale. My favorite stems at the Dollar Tree this shopping spree are the snowy greenery and gold Christmas ornaments.
Yes, I know Halloween is around the corner and we haven’t even had Thanksgiving yet, and I’m talking Christmas. But did you know or experience that if you don’t visit the store now for your Christmas decorations, you'll miss out on all the decorations? I have experienced that, unfortunately, and wouldn’t want you, my friend, to experience it if you're hosting. If you didn’t know already we are friends now that you've made it this far in our blog. FYI, my favorite color is blue, which I thought a friend should know. Let’s get back to the cart and shopping at the Dollar Tree.
I don’t think anything else can fit in the cart, off we go to see how this Christmas centerpiece turns out!
DIY Dollar Tree Unique Christmas Poinsettia Centerpiece
Are you in love yet? Who knew these door swags could have such a punch to your table decor? I love how subtle the look is, yet it has lots of detail that keeps your interest. From the contrast of the gold and silver to the burlap items that create warmth while popping the green, it truly is elegant.
The black lantern creates depth and dimension with its color and height. The burlap bow softens the lantern and brings your eye up. I like to do bows on shorter lanterns like this one. When they are too tall, the lantern appears to be touching my dining room light fixture, which is not the look I’m going for. Our olive napkin ring is one of many uses here at Yes Design It. We like to add a little more interest to the table by tying it into our bow for this tablescape. It broke up all the burlap and, for that final touch, added one of our glitter star clips.

Place Setting Decor
Tah-dah, I give you one of many masterpieces we create here at Yes Design It. Our favorite part is seeing the whole look come together with our place settings. Once you layout the glassware and silverware all the layers and small details work cohesively to make your dining experience memorable.
We love the burlap texture of the bow on the lantern and how it ties in with the natural, woven chargers and mocha-textured table runner. The main focus is the DIY Christmas silver poinsettia centerpiece, but your eyes then travel to all the other details of the table. The handmade, neutral beaded napkin rings, crafted by Yes Design It, adds texture and an organic element while enhancing the elegance of the table decor. We love adding that extra detail to make a statement or a pop of interest.
Yes Design It Signature Look
At Yes Design It, you will notice that the end caps (head of the table place settings) of our tablescapes are intentionally different from the other place settings. As you can see in the picture, we added these adorable, detailed, hand-folded Christmas tree napkins to this particular tablescape. We created a neutral three-dimensional tree stump that matches the neutral beads of the napkin rings on the other four place settings. The gold star clip on the tree adds glamour and pairs well with the various gold elements of the tablescape, creating a cohesive look.
If you love these hand-folded Christmas tree napkins, Yes Design It will launch a Christmas Tablescape Kit in a few weeks to help with your Christmas table decorating needs this Holiday season. They also make a great tablescape gift for someone who has just moved into a new home or is getting married.
Cozy Tablescape Vibe
Want to enhance your tablescape this season by making it cozy and, as a bonus, functional? Add a pillow to the head of the table chairs. We selected these green velvet pillows that exude a comfortable and soft vibe. A trick we like to use to ensure the pillow stays on the chair is wrapping a ribbon around it and tying a bow in the back. We used this thick burlap ribbon from Hobby Lobby and added one of the Yes Design It olive napkin rings for an added detail.
How cute did this turn out? It just makes it more inviting when you angle the chair, creating a cozy atmosphere to your tablescape. The pillows are super functional for those little ones who can’t reach the table. It helps them feel more comfortable, and they love being seated at the head of the table.
White Christmas vs Red Christmas Tablescape
Red is the most common color associated with Christmas, but I prefer this subtle vibe that is calming, simple, and effective. I feel a sense of elegance here that will completely elevate your Christmas dining experience. Not only that, but also at an affordable price. Did you know that most door swags typically cost around $25 each? I found you two at a whopping $10 total at the Dollar Tree. Then, to add that designer look, I have you add a few Christmas stems from the Dollar Tree that bring your door swags to $20 total for two. You practically get one for free. I’m all about the deals when decorating; it is part of the challenge. You appreciate your tablescape that much more.
Now the big challenging question, which one do you like the best? I mean you really can’t go wrong with either of them, they are adorable. I’m biased though my advice is go with your gut.
